The Scorpion EXO-ADX2 is a popular helmet in the Core Series of Scorpion EXO helmets, specifically designed for adventure and dual-sport riders. It combines features ideal for both on-road and off-road conditions, making it a versatile choice for riders who split their time between different types of riding.
Key Features of the Scorpion EXO-ADX2 Helmet:
Outer Shell Construction:
The EXO-ADX2 uses a polycarbonate shell for durability and lightweight performance. This construction allows the helmet to provide solid protection while reducing the overall weight, making it comfortable for long rides and off-road use.
Modular Design:
One of the standout features of the EXO-ADX2 is its modular chin bar. The helmet has a flip-up chin bar, which can be raised to convert the helmet into an open-face design. This modular design offers versatility, allowing riders to adapt based on their riding environment.
Aerodynamic and Ventilation System:
The helmet is designed with advanced ventilation to keep riders cool during extended rides. Large intake and exhaust vents provide optimal airflow, reducing heat buildup and preventing visor fogging.
The ventilation system is adjustable, allowing riders to tailor airflow to their preferences, whether riding in hot weather or cooler conditions.
Visor and Sun Visor System:
The EXO-ADX2 comes with an external peak visor, which is essential for off-road riders. The peak helps to protect from debris, sun glare, and rain while riding in rough terrain.
Additionally, the helmet includes an integrated retractable sun visor, which can be flipped down to protect the eyes from sunlight without having to change the outer visor.
The clear visor is designed to be anti-scratch and anti-fog to improve visibility under various riding conditions.
Safety:
The EXO-ADX2 is built with EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) padding that provides high levels of impact protection. The multi-density EPS liner absorbs energy effectively during a collision.
It meets or exceeds DOT (Department of Transportation) and ECE (Economic Commission for Europe) safety standards, ensuring that riders are protected on the road and off it.
Comfort:
The helmet is equipped with removable, washable, moisture-wicking liners to keep the interior fresh. The soft, plush interior provides comfort during long rides, and the cheek pads are designed to provide a snug fit without being too tight.
It also features eye port gaskets for a secure fit and to minimize wind noise.
Weight:
The EXO-ADX2 weighs approximately 3.7 lbs (1680 grams), which is relatively light for a modular adventure helmet. This weight balance makes it suitable for both on-road and off-road adventures, providing comfort without compromising safety.
Dual-Sport Adaptability:
The helmet is specifically designed for dual-sport riding, allowing riders to switch between on-road and off-road configurations easily. The peak visor can be adjusted or removed for a more aerodynamic road riding setup, while the chin bar offers more protection when riding in rugged conditions.
Bluetooth Compatibility:
Like many Scorpion helmets, the EXO-ADX2 is designed with Bluetooth communication system compatibility, allowing riders to connect devices like headsets for communication, navigation, or music.
